Akagera national park is the best wildlife viewing destination in Rwanda. It is home to some of the rare wild animals in Africa and a perfect place to go on a game drive. Situated in the Eastern part of Rwanda, Akagera national park sits on an area of 2500 sq km and it is found on the boarder of Rwanda and Tanzania. The park was named after Akagera River which flows on the boarder with Tanzania.

Akagera national park is the only Savannah park in Rwanda making it the only place for wildlife viewing experience in Rwanda. How to Access Akagera national park

Akagera national park can be accessed by either road or air. By road the park can be accessed by driving from Kigali the capital city of Rwanfa through Rwamagana town to Akagera. This drive takes about 2 hours.
By air one can board a flight with Akagera Aviation and fly directly to the park for wildlife viewing.
