The tomb can be accessed by a 30 minute drive from Kinigi the park headquarters to trail leading to Karisoke research camp where visitors can hike for about 10 minutes near the park boundary. Visitors can relax; have spectacular views of the whole forest before proceeding to the tomb. The walk then continues from the park boundary through the forest for about another one and a half hours to the popular tomb.
